Bad Teinach-Zavelstein is a well-kept secret amongs the spa and holiday resorts of the Black Forest. In de midst of a rich and varied landscape it offers relaxation and recuperation via the healing powers of its springs and climate. Bad Teinach 390 - 440 metres above sea level. (470 inhabitants), is a spa rich in tradition in the idyllic Teinach Valley. It offers a tastefull spa centre with modern spa facilities (mineral and thermal baths, a pump room "to take the waters" and a spa park), as well as accommodation in every category. It is the home of the famous "Hirschquelle" (Hart Spring) and the mineral water of the same name.
Zavelstein 560 metres above sea level. (760 inhabitants), a "Pure Air Health Resort" on the sunny high plateau, a listed monument as the "Städtle" (Little Town), with fortress ruins, recipient of many awards for its picturesque area, inns, guest house accommodation, self-catering holiday flats, and bed and breakfast.
Sommenhardt 570 metres above sea level. (750 inhabitants), state recognised recuperation area resort, on the plateau; an inn, restaruants, self-catering-holiday flats, and bed and breakfast.
Rötenbach 610 metres above sea level. (320 inhabitants), located at the source of the stream with the same name; on the plateau; self-catering holiday flats.
Emberg 620 metres above sea level. (150 inhabitants), surrounded by meadows on the plateau of the Black Forest with a view of Zavelstein and Sommenhardt; self-catering holiday flats
Schmieh 630 metres above sea level. (150 inhabitants), the highest lying part of the district, an island of sunshine in the midst of thick forests, self-catering holiday flats
Kentheim 340 metres above sea level. (170 inhabitants), located in the Nagold Valley, with the remarkable St. Candidus Church containing 13th century frescoes.
