The Cassiopeia Thermal Baths and the spa town of Badenweiler are located at the foot of the Black Forest on the edge of the Rhine Plain in the Markgräflerland region. Even the Romans appreciated the location and used the warm springs to build a thermal bath, the remains of which can now be viewed under a glass dome right next to the modern Cassiopeia Thermal Baths. The Romans valued the favorable climate and fertile soil on the edge of the Rhine Valley and cultivated fine wines there even back then. The Markgräflerland region offers historic towns and villages, excellent cuisine, and numerous vineyards where high-quality grapes thrive. Tradition, customs, and warm hospitality are found everywhere, and the rolling landscape offers magnificent views of the Black Forest mountains and the Vosges Mountains on the other side of the Rhine Valley.
