glassblowing Wolfach

Welcome to the last crystal glassworks in the Black Forest

Glassmaking is a centuries-old tradition in the Black Forest, where the important raw materials of the time, such as wood (for the production of potash and for firing) and quartz sand, were available in abundance.
The Dorotheenhütte Wolfache was founded in 1947 by the entrepreneurs Dr. Kurt Petersen and Ummo Barthmann and is today the last traditional glassworks in the Black Forest, where the finest crystal glass is produced and refined. In the traditional way: blown by mouth and cut and engraved by hand.
